Disabled Veterans Mentoring

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Disabled Veterans Employment Mentoring Month?

Organized by Enable America, a unique opportunity for disabled veterans to participate in hands-on career exploration at a successful business and learn about employment opportunities at the company.
Why should I participate?

In this economy, you need a competitive edge to know where to look for jobs, how to land an interview, and how to present yourself as a strong candidate for the position – the Career Mentoring Day offers you just those opportunities. If there are job openings, you are in the best possible position to show interest and gather more information during the mentoring day. You will network with employees and hiring managers of a very successful company. You will have the chance to submit a resume and make a good impression. If a job becomes available in the future, the company may decide to contact you. Even if you are currently not job searching, explore the company with a unique behind-the-scenes experience.
Do I need to have a particular background, such as health care to participate?

No. The career mentoring day gives you an opportunity to explore the many career possibilities at a successful company.
How much of a time commitment is involved?

The Career Mentoring Day begins at 8:00 AM with a light breakfast and ends after lunch, around 2:00 PM.
How do I get the most out of the day?

Provide as much information as you can on the registration form, including your background, interests, and resume. We use this information to match you with a specific mentor for the day, so the more thorough you are, the more customized match we will be able to make.
What are next steps?

After registering, we will let you know we have received your registration and will contact you at a later time to provide you with all the logistical information.
