Enable America established operations in Raleigh in January, 2009. The year was highlighted by Progress Energy joining us as our local partner. The two organizations worked together on developing Progress Energy’s Inclusion and Disabilities Education employee program (PRIDE), an employee network group. For those efforts and more Enable America honored Progress Energy with its Community Leadership Award during its celebration of Disability Mentoring Day on October 22, 2009.

Progress Energy was also among a number of organizations that participated in Enable America’s disability mentoring programs, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC, The Royal Bank of Canada, SAS, Rex HealthCare, WRAL-TV, and the Carolina Hurricanes.
