"For a fleeting moment," Richard Salem said, "I forgot that I couldn't see." Since then, Salem hasn't let much slow him down. He says he was the first blind student at Duke University's law school. He ran for U.S. Congress in 1977. He worked on Jimmy Carter's presidential campaign. He founded a Tampa law firm in 1981 that works with companies in 17 countries and more than 30 U.S. cities.
